Meet Our Team

The Hunting Junkies begin with a group of bowhunters out of Southern Ohio. With a major passion for the outdoors and all things hunting, we wanted to start sharing our journey. Our goal is to share our experience as straightforward as possible. As you know, sharing a love for all things hunting with your best friends and family is what makes this sport a brotherhood.

Joe started his love for the outdoors at a very young age. In his early 20’s he started competing on some of the national bass fishing circuits with some success. After about 10 years of bass fishing, he started his family and he moved from competitive bass fishing to whitetail hunting as it kept him home in Ohio where some of the best hunting exist.

With a passion for all things outdoors, Joe concentrated on some family land and worked for over a decade to transform it into a whitetail heaven. He had a group of friends and family that added food plots, mineral spots, cut trails and worked to add thick cover. After 10 years it has all come together.

After having multiple encounters with several world-class Booners, Joe finally was in front of his once in a lifetime buck on Nov 9, 2012. He was able to harvest this buck and as they say, the rest is history. Working to make the land even better goes on today. Hoping others can have the same experience.

Cory grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio spending all his summers outdoors and school years playing sports. He spends his time on computers, working in digital marketing for a vacation rental software & marketing company. Cory started bowhunting after picking up his dad’s old bow and learning from his uncle Joe Godar. After missing an attempt at a buck his first sit with Joe, Cory was forever hooked.

Cory met fellow Hunting Junky Shawn Wright while playing high school lacrosse and the hunting bond began. Some of his best memories are the long weekends at the cabin hunting the rut with his family and friends.

His best hunting memory to date is doubling up with Thomas Jaeger on November 12th, 2016. Cory shot a buck at 8:30 in the morning and was able to film Thomas for an evening hunt where he shot his first buck at 3:30 in the afternoon.

Pro Staff | Content Manager

Growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio, Thomas was always spending his time running the creek and the woods when he didn’t have baseball or football practice. Being the black sheep of the family, he was instantly hooked to fishing after being introduced to it at a fourth grade football party. From then on, dragging his parents to a lake so he could fish was all he wanted to do.It wasn’t until after Thomas joined the Army National Guard and got home after basic training in his early twenties, that he had a bow in his hands for the first time and knew it was something he wanted to pursue.

Thomas then met his now wife, and through her met Joe and Cory, two of his best friends and the two who introduced him to his addiction after getting him into a stand for the first time. Day after day he became more obsessed with hunting and is now his main focus outside of family and working to be a certified electrician.

His most memorable hunt and one of the greatest days in the woods was not only doubling up with Cory for his first buck, but capturing that moment on film. The hunt continues and he’s extremely excited to share his hunts with all of you junkies.
